The CWL Series of whole home water filtration appliances is designed to provide quality, filtered water to the entire home, which creates a healthier water environment for you and your family. Sixty five pounds (65 lbs) or 2.5 cu. ft. of granular activated carbon (GAC) high grade filtration media removes chlorine and other volatile organic compounds (VOC's), improving the taste, clarity and odor of all the water. Water is delivered throughout the home at the flow rate and pressure normally found. The water can be used for all purposes; drinking and cooking, bathing and showering, steam and sauna; for you and your family, pets and plants. The automatic backwash does not allow the filtration media to pack, channel or pool, this prevents bacterial build-up and provides continued and renewed surface area for filtration. Water may excessively spot up and make it difficult to clean, while forming scale build-up in your pipes and water heater. This is not a contaminant or health issue, it is strictly aesthetic, however you may consider the following:

The Environmental Water System for Whole Home Filtration and Physical Conditioning, the best alternative to harsh softening without the disadvantages of the salts (see softener restrictions) or, if applicable, based on water conditions or consumer preference, add a softener (not a filtration product) on the hot side only to either a CWL or EWS Appliance.
