TT-1054 Technical Information
Tank Size: 10" x 54" Media Content: 1.5 / 41 cu.ft./lbs. Line Size: 3/4 in. - 11/4 in. Valve Head: DTV-Metered Installed Unit Size: 10" x 63"
Brine Tank: 16" x 34"
Salt Capacity: 300 lbs Water Flow: 10 GPM
Backwash: 4 GPM
Proper Application:
Installed at a soft-water loop to avoid the cold side of the kitchen sink, wet bar, ice maker/refrigerator connection and hose bibs, the softener strictly softens the water through a process of ionic exchange. There are advantages to softened water; however, the tradeoffs and disadvantages are many. Door-to-door salesmen have provided the general public and even contractors with a skewed, and in most cases, an incorrect portrayal of what softened water is all about.
EWS, Inc. provides a complete product line of water filtration, softening and conditioning product from sink units to whole home appliances.Softening is available as a consumer preference. It may be what you’re used to, or you like the slippery feeling. It may be your perception, that salt softening is the only way to handle hard water. Yet, there are many drawbacks to take into consideration, (ie: water quality, household product warranties, aggressive and corrosive water, and environmental considerations**). It is for these reasons that we manufacture the most efficent softeners available and suggest installation on the hot side only.
Media Specifications:
Cation Resin - Primary Media
Purofine is specially produced, high quality cation exchange resin that has been designed specifically for use in both domestic and industrial applications. Purofine is in compliance with the U. S. Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act section 21, paragraph 173.25
Physical & Operating Characteristics

Under Bed Filter Sand
Keeps riser in place and promotes better flow and even water distribution through media bed and during backwash cycles to lift bed uniformally.
Conditions of Operation:
System Service Flow Rate - up to 10 gpm
Min/Max Water Temperature: 40º / 80 ºF - 4.4 / 62.8C
Min/Max Water Pressure: 40 PSI / 75 PSI
Warning: Install Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV), by code in places, to prevent pressure surges and warranty issues.
All units meet or exceed all testing standards and requirements for NSF Standard 44 for Softener Performance.

• No additional plumbing for media replacement or maintenance
• Less costly plumbing installation, easier startups, non-corrosive. |
Advanced Digital Metered Technology (1” DTV Valves Only) - high accuracy and efficiency for your softening needs.
• Up Flow Regeneration; decreases salt usage by 20-40% per regeneration and increases salt efficiency without hardness slippage
• True Variable Brining; calculates amount of brine to make in order to regenerate only the amount of resin saturated by hardness from the last system regeneration
• Soft Water Service During Brine Making; during brine making cycle service water continues to be delivered softened
• Soft Water Brine Fill; the only single valve on the market with soft water brine tank fill, decreases the potential for debris to be introduced into brine tank which can create problems with the safety float, injector screen or brine flow control
• Brine Before Backwashing; increases regeneration efficiency
• Self Adjusting Reserve Capacity; allows the system to change automatically to meet your changing water softening requirements without program entries
• Calendar Day Override; maintains the bed during times of inactivity without excessive salt usage
• Hidden 5th Cycle; down flow fast rinse cycle which removes hard water pocket from service flow which disrupts soft water delivery
• Factory Programmed and Consumer Friendly:
• Real Time Flow Rates: our low profile turbine meters monitor up to 131 pulses per gallon (typical 20 pulses per gallon) for correct readings
• SB106 Efficiency Compliant; efficient to be available in areas restricting softeners based on excessive brine discharge and waste water
WARNING: Some restrictions apply to the use of softeners. Click here for more information.
